Club History
Welcome to New Life United. It is with great pleasure that we launch this site. It is a real joy to see how far New Life has come in a short period of time.
The Beginning
My name is Joseph Howe player Manager of New Life United. Back in August of 2010 New Life was formed as an out let for the men of a seven day Adventist church. A number of followers, friends and family were drawn together sharing the same passion, a love of football. It was for some a bit of fun and for others opportunity to leave a mark on the Woolwich & Eltham Sunday league. New Life came close to qualifying for the division three final but were later disqualified for playing an ineligible player. Season 2010-2011 ended with New Life finishing in sixth place winning no silverware.
2010 - 2012
It is a fact that we all learn best from experience. Many lessons were learnt in season 2010-2011 went into making improvements for season 2011-2012. It is important to me that the club has strong leaders in key position all over the club. I appointed goal keeper Nicholas Balancy as club captain. Nicholas is an excellent people person and leader. Always willing to lend an ear or give good advice. Nicholas was awarded New Life United’s must committed player on and off the field. Mohammed Bello is our vice captain. A very motivated forward that gives every thing in every game. Mo fire as he is often called on the pitch finished New Life top scorer in 2011-2012. Mohammed won the New Life golden boot award for season 2011-2012.
New Life United's Chairman for season
2010-2011 parted from us mid season of 2011-2012. It was a time of
upheaval for the club seeing results dip in the process. Getting the
right man for the job proved difficult, candidates were trailed but
none proving successful. Paul Richardson was introduced to me by
Nicholas Balancy. Mr Richardson was a former player and Manager and
ticked all the right boxes his management experience was excellent.
Paul is from a corporate background and in many ways suited New Life
United.
New Life’s on the field heroics in 2011-2012 saw many records set and former records smashed.
