A tensed built game against a side that won the league and more so we have collided three times prior to this game. A scorching weather with the sun burning through but yet beautiful atmosphere to play without hesitation.
First game of the season for new life with a solid starting line up, defence consisted of Paul, Joe, Luke, and Michael. The engine room of distribution was a blend of sol, Perry and ayo distributing the ball immaculately to the wing players Mohammed and jack and finally, slicing the ball across to the striker Brown.
Maroon 11 is the name of our collision, with the referee’s whistle screaming through, yes its kickoff, the game begun with zeal of fire, passes slashing through effectively well, boarding its flight to designated destination.
After many passes and tackles grafting through, eventually its time for an opener, with a pass from brown to ayo, he shot straight at the goal keeper, unfortunately it struck the keeper like a missile while he dropped it in an instance, with Jack just right there he rebounded with great reflex,In the net yeah its a goal!!. 1-0
However with new life’s mentality, the boys exhaled “NIL NIL” game on, with blistering heat and dehydration settling in, It was high time the ball flew in for another goal. The moment came with a free kick wonderfully taken by the ever calm perry flying across the opponents defence, rightfully brown was there patiently waiting for the loose ball, Bang!! he struck it past the goal keeper, Goal!!, pleasantries exchanged with utmost delight. “Come on boys!!”, the maroons looked gobsmacked like morons.
Game on, The four back defence conveniently shut down their territory like a road closure, not leaving any room whatsoever for a shot on target from the opponents. A game with much domination, maroon five were gasping for initiative, still caught by surprise and trying to pick up their jaws from the floor, its another moment for a goal, towards the end of an intensive first half, with the game well controlled and new life in the driving sit, an amazing cross was safely delivered like a fragile parcel from Ayo to Jack on the right side, combinations of flare finely displayed on the pitch like an High definition TV, He conveniently drove past their defence tenderly putting the ball in the net, Its a Goal!! 3-0. what a perfect way to round off the first half, within couple minutes, the referee came to the opponents rescue like paramedics, blowing the whistle, Half Time!!!.
Half Time – Smiles across the faces of Newlife’s players, everyone gasping for a gulp of water, exhaustion but yet sweet pain. who says hard work don’t pay, it certainly show cased itself finely on the pitch in the first half. “halftime time talks” clean sheet Game mindset blended with constructive criticism, heads up ready to finish our unfinished business. Nick hauled the chant “whose Life, NewLife!!!”.
Second Half – Game on, with us going down the hill this time around made it easy for our flank players to run past swiftly like Usain bolt. it started cold like frozen food, but soon it got defrosted with the microwave degree of the sun, we back in the game like we trained hard weeks for. Our darkness came to light with another wonderful schole style pass from ayo down to the mustang on the left hand side, Mohammed calmly controlled the ball making a great decision while he ran strongly through the defence, with couple players in the box shouting “Moh! Moh! Moh! Pass! Pass!” but obviously it seemed Mohammed had a better plan and finally a chance to pull out a treat from his bag of goal s,he surprisingly but yet skilfully struck the ball with his left foot right past the side of goal keeper, Bang in!! its a goal!! 4-0.
Maroon XI wondered if it was a dream or reality, its for real 4-0, NewLife players started to get tired which required a supplement of energy through sidelined players, its substitution, three players came on in the process, Tim for Mohammed, Mecah for perry and lastly Akin for Jack. The game continued with more fire and fast paced play, stamping down every process of gameplay from the opponent, yet again its that time of the game for round up goal, Another pass from Ayo to Akin on the right side of the pitch, considering akin just came on, the energy still burned through like a Toast, he refused to get sandwiched by the opponents defence, running though yet again like other players did, with few faked gesture of shooting he finally struck right by the keepers side, Its in!! again its a goal!!! 5-0.
Our day couldn’t get better than this, Its a new day, its our day, NewLife’s day, our gameplay shined across like green laser light on a dance floor, yes we danced and moonwalked over Maroon XI, the final minutes of game ticked across swiftly, its the final whistle, its a game over the referee blew His whistle like a jubilee trumpet. Well it was nothing short of amazing triumph, on this note it will take Maroon XI more than a million watts to resurrect from a killer game.
