Alliance Cup (Division One Cup)
On Sunday I witnessed one of the finest games in New Life history. Two teams matched up both with remarkable records of giant killing in the league. New Life like a finely groomed and well oiled machine arrived early at Deptford Park, well before the home team had turned over in bed. Skipped past the away dressing room and readied them in the home dressing room. Plan A and B was outlined and drilled home and New Life were out warming up as Jam slowly arrived whipping sleep from there eye's. New Life were ready for action the staring line up was Skipper Nicholas Balancy in goal, right back Paul Dare, Central defensive partnership of Quick hand Luke Faith and Coach Joseph Howe, left back was Master Mecca. The centre midfield blossoming partnership of Sol Train and Baby face assassin Atomide Ajose, right wing was dribbling Jacques Francisco, Left was last Mo fire Mohammed Bello, Upfront was Black Widow Brown Olayinka Wilson and behind him playing a dual role as midfield/striker was Perry sweet left Cochrane. New Life had a healthy bench and support. Subs Tim, Akin, Ibi, Mousa, Daniel, Innocent and Harry.
The Match report is to follow. What I would like to say is that nothing is by accident. We can do the blame game or we can take responsibility for our failures and step up and improve on our weaknesses leaving nothing to chance or accident. The difference between winning and losing is the fine details.
The first goal came through Jam targeting and pressuring what they believed to be a weakness. Let us not forget Jam have our ex player's to advise them on our weakness. The second goal came from a corner and the third goal in extra time a penalty due to contact from a player.
What we can do is work on ourselves to minimise errors. Improve on each player’s role and insure you know what is expected of you.
